Civil Wedding ceremonies at Allt Yr Ynys Hotel, near Abergavenny

The setting, quality and range of facilities at Allt Yr Ynys, and its tranquil yet easily accessible location, combine to make it a superb venue for civil wedding ceremonies and for wedding receptions. We pride ourselves on the care we take with all our guests. Particularly recognising that every wedding is the most special of events and must be an enduring and pleasure filled memory.

Lush lawned gardens lead down to the River Monnow fronting the hotel, which, together with the Elizabethan Knot Garden in the walled gardens at the rear of the hotel, provide the perfect settings for pre-wedding reception gatherings as well as for wedding photographs.

Our main function suite can seat up to 80 guests comfortably, but greater numbers can be accommodated in marquees within the gardens.

A typical day may be as follows:

12.00am Wedding Ceremony

12.30pm Photos outside the Church

1.00pm Drinks reception at Allt Yr Ynys

1.30pm Photos in the hotel grounds

3.00pm Wedding Breakfast (to include 3 course meal, toast and cake, speeches)

6.00pm Break

7.30pm Some Day Guests will depart & Evening Guests will arrive for an evening of entertainment

9.00pm Buffet

12.00pm Close

The small selection of menus shown below are by no means ‘set in stone’, and our head chef would be pleased to discuss any personal preferences or requirements you may have. Please note that multiple choices per course can also be catered for, however, this may entail additional charges and will of necessity increase the meal service time. Vegetarian options for pre-specified numbers are available at no extra charge.
